First, let’s explore the Atlas from a bird’s eye perspective. After downloading the PDF to your machine and opening it, take a few minutes to carefully read the entire Table of Contents (pages 2–5). You should notice some overarching themes that would fit multiple Discovery entries.
Now: list two themes that stick out to you. Do not simply repeat the title of a given discovery. For each theme title, list three Discoveries (entries) that would fit into the broader theme.
Next: how does each of these two themes fit into our four units (‘Self,’ ‘Landscape,’ ‘Masses,’ ‘After Mao’)? Does this theme support one or more of the units? Or could it stand alone as an independent unit? Be as specific as possible. (2 sentences regarding each theme.)
