1) Pick 1-3 images from your personal archive that speak to the themes of diaspora and memory as they relate to your life. Describe in 2-3 paragraphs (a) how the image draws out these themes, (b) how the readings make you read your selected image(s) differently, and (c) your thoughts about the particular power and significance photography can have in shaping and mediating our memory. You do NOT need to share anything about your personal life. Rather, you can share your reflections about the relationship between diaspora, memory, and photography in more general terms. However, please try to be specific in your engagement with the readings.
