U‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌sing concepts and readings from the module, critically analyse an organisational behaviour problem you
are experiencing (or have experienced) at work.
Follow the step-by-step procedure to case analysis described below.
Your assignment should consist of three parts:
Part A. Case Description
This brief section should set the background for your assignment. You need to identify and outline the
central problematic case you are focusing on. Furthermore, it is also necessary to briefly introduce the key
protagonists and symptoms. Please provide enough background information related to your organisation
so that the problem can be situated in a broader context. Overall, the case must be described in a way that
is informative and factual.
Part B. Case Analysis
This is the main part of the essay. It is dedicated to problem analysis, in search for causation and final
diagnosis.
You are expected to keep in mind the following aspects as part of your Case Analysis:
? Please select ‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌two out of the four frames (Lee G. Bolman; Terrence E. Deal Reframing – Human Resource, Structural,Political & Symbolic). This will allow the
framing and reframing of the problem using different lenses, thus permitting a more rounded
identification of causation. Please don’t forget to justify your choices.
? Within each frame, mobilise key OB concepts and theories which allow driving the actual
identification of causes for the selected problem.
? This part of the assignment should end with a final diagnosis, which summarises the causes
uncovered in the above analysis.
Part C. Conclusion
This section is dedicated to approaching solutions to the problem analysed previously. In this context,
you are expected to address the following:
? Having in mind the final diagnosis reached by the end of Section B, please identify a few
alternative solutions to the problem.
? Identify which would be your final recommendation and consider it critically
