P‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌reparation
In your readings on Leadership, you learned the difference between management and leadership, as well as traits, styles, and situations of leaders and leadership.
In this assignment, you will research and write about a modern leader of your choice. You may not select one of the leaders discussed in the course. Carefully consider the traits, styles, and differing situations for leadership in today’s organizations.
Your Task
Select a leader to profile in your written report. You may select one you admire, or a “good example of a bad example.” There are numerous websites naming leaders to get you started. A quick search on “famous contemporary leaders” revealed millions of possible lists, OR you may select a leader in your personal or professional life: your boss, a coach, a team leader, etc.
Research your chosen leader, identifying evidence of his/her traits, styles, and leadership situations. Relate your findings to the module concepts. For example, how did your chosen leader demonstrate the trait of “desire to lead”? Prepare examples.
Write a five-paragraph essay profiling your chosen leader.
First, introduce your leader, an‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌d state why you selected him/her. Was their leadership effective or not effective?
Next, expand upon the traits and style of your leader, including at least three properly referenced and defined terms from the module reading. For example, if you select Drive, describe what the term means in the context of leadership and how your leader demonstrates it.
Next, describe the leadership situation your chosen leader was in, using one of the Situational Leadership Models from the module reading. For example, if your leader was charged with a group of new or low-competence employees, did they use the Selling style prescribed by Ken Blanchard?
Finally, conclude with a short description of your personal leadership style and how effective it has been for you to date.
Include 2-3 concepts from the text and be sure you include in-text citations for those concepts and a separate Reference or Works Cited page for those in-text citations.
In addition to the text, you are encouraged to research leadership and your chosen leader, using reliable and properly cited Internet resources. You may also draw from your personal work experience with appropriate examples to support y‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌our references.

A‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌rticle Critique
[WLOs: 1, 2] [CLOs: 1, 2, 3]
Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read How to Write an Article Review: Practical Tips and Examples (Links to an external site.) and watch the video, How to Write an Article Review | Example, Format, Dos and Don’ts [UPDATED] | EssayPro (Links to an external site.).
Investigate professional journals and locate two articles relevant to issues in the United States and that pertain to organizational behavior topics from this course that interest you. You are to critique each article according to the instructions below. The articles should be less than three-years-old. You are to use the ProQuest Central database found in the University of Arizona Global Campus Library.
Each three-page critique (a total of six pages for both critiques) must include the following three parts. Include both article reviews into one document for submission to Waypoint (do not submit two documents).
Complete the following three parts:
Identify the articles
Provide the reader with enough information about your articles so they will be able to locate the article. Describe your search process.
Summarize the articles
Identify the main points that the authors have tried to establish (i.e., 1, 2, 3, or first, second, third). There normally will be three to five main points per article. If you are summarizing a court case, you should discuss the following:
What provision of the law was at issue? Briefly state the facts of the case.
What legal tests were applied?
Were there any unusual elements in the case?
Provide sufficient information to demonstrate you understand the content of the article.
Critique the article
Provide your reaction (insightful, critical, and logical) to the points that the authors tried to make or an overall critique of the entire articles. A simple statement of agreement or disagreement is not sufficient. While you may make such a statement by way of introduction to your reaction, you must clearly and logically state the reasons for your position. You may also find the Writing Center’s resource Writing an Article Critique (Links to an external site.).
The Article Critique paper
Must be six double-spaced pages in length (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌ Style (Links to an external site.) as outlined in the Writing Center’s APA Formatting for Microsoft Word (Links to an external site.).
Must include a separate title page with the following:
Title of paper in bold font
Space should be between title and the rest of the information on the title page.
Student’s name
Name of institution
Course name and number
Instructor’s name
Due date
Must utilize academic voice. See the Academic Voice (Links to an external site.) resource for additional guidance.
Must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph. Your introduction paragraph needs to end with a clear thesis statement that indicates the purpose of your paper.
For assistance on writing Introductions & Conclusions (Links to an external site.) as well as Writing a Thesis Statement (Links to an external site.), refer to the Writing Center resources.
Must use at least two credible sources in addition to the course text.
The Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible Sources (Links to an external site.) table offers additional guidance on appropriate source types. If you have questions about whether a specific source is appropriate for this assignment, please contact your instructor. Your instructor has the final say about the appropriateness of a specific source for a particular assignment.

T‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌he main points to keep in mind for the ‘Finding & Discussion Chapter’
Because you are doing a qualitative piece of research you do not need a findings chapter and then a discussion chapter. Findings are for quantitative studies that present the data collected e.g. tables, regressions, chi-squared, etc. And then they discuss these findings in the next chapter (‘Discussion’). For qualitative you combine the two into one ‘Findings and discussion’ chapter, i.e. you present interview quotes (your data) and your analysis together.
The best way to structure this Findings and discussion chapter is to mirror your research objectives. So your first findings and discussion section can address your first research objective, the second section your second objective, and so on. This is because the main thing that the markers/moderator are looking for is that you have achieved what you set out to, so this is the best way to do that.
In terms of presenting your interview responses, you have many options re: how you go about this. But these only need to be short quotes to support the‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌ different points you are making. E.g. you will have a couple of key points to make for each research objective, make the point; offer some qoutes from different responses to show why you have made your key points; and link back to your literature review i.e. do your findings support or contradict what the existing literature says. This is a pretty good formula to follow, but obviously talk about anything new / interesting / etc. too.
When it comes to coding, you are coding anything that you think may be important or relevant to your research objectives, and yes these will become your themes. The entire point of the conceptual framework is that these are likely to be your codes, and provide an easy link for you to compare what your respondents have said with the existing literature. Themes can be used during each of your research objectives, but they do not need to be the way you structure each discussion section.

OVERVIEW:
This Field Activity will aid the student in providing solutions that align with a biblical worldview to problems associated with cost, access, and quality of care. The capstone project seeks to integrate the concepts, techniques, and knowledge of all areas of healthcare administration, with a focus on the application of strategic management. This field activity project, which is completed in two parts, requires students to apply what they have learned throughout the curriculum. The overall objective of the capstone course is to enable students to build upon their theoretical preparation. Each student will select an organization in which to complete a field activity (Organization is already picked out and will be attached). Note: The
organization will remain anonymous. No part of any collection or analysis of data/information may be utilized or published beyond the course. The specific name of the organization will not be revealed in the assignment to maintain anonymity.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Since this is a two-part project; for the completed project, the student will combine both Field Activity Assignments into one completed Capstone document. For the second assignment the student will provide a 15–20-page document combining the “Field
Activity: Organization, Activity Summary, Role, Project Timeline Assignment”, and this “Field Activity: Completed Activity – Overview, Research Support, Analysis, Recommendations Assignment”.
The completed Healthcare Administration capstone project will include the following:
-Overview of the activity
-A comprehensive analysis of the selected field activity is provided
-Research support of the strategic impact on a healthcare organization is presented
-Recommendations to be made to the organization as a result of the activity findings
-Strongly relevant application of the course principles is made in the analysis of the field activity
INCLUDE:
-Innovative recommendations for improvement/changes OR information supporting how you implemented innovative change in the organization ‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌as part of this field activity.
– Describe how this field activity contributes to the social responsibility initiatives of the organization.
-Evaluate the impact or correlation of this field activity on the strategic goals of the organization.
-Substantive Biblical integration (with Scriptural support) provided throughout each part of the analysis/paper.
Required items to include are outlined as follows:
-Title page, Abstract, and Reference list must be included
? Length of assignment is 15–20 pages. (Title page, abstract, reference sections are excluded from this length).
-The paper uses at least 15 scholarly sources plus the course text.
-Biblical integration is included and fully supports the analysis of key concepts throughout the paper.
-Scholarly articles must be published within the last FIVE years.
-Refer to the course materials and texts to ensure you include appropriate analysis of the organization utilizing critical success factors to support your evaluation of the organization as
compared to its benchmarks.
-Ideally, the field activity selected should be a hands-on activity in a healthcare organization (kept anonymous). However, when face-to-face activities are not permissible the use of virtual
platforms and other forms of electronic communication may be utilized. We do not want proprietary data included in the assignment submission. The activity could be one that you are
currently completing as part of your job responsibilities or one that needs to be addressed in your current role. Or, if you are not employed, have never been employed, or do not have physical
access to any healthcare organization at this time, you can complete a case study in which you collect information/data for a specific healthcare organization online, with the use of databases,
via email or telephone, or via virtual communication/meetings.
If you elect to conduct a case study on a healthcare organization, you will minimally need to complete the following:
• Benchmark analysis (the text will be helpful)
• SWOT analysis
• Summary of identified problems to be addressed
• Summary of recommendations to address the problems identified
• Utilize research support to provide the rationale for your analysis and recommendations.
The document you will be submitting is a summary of the activity you completed (not a description of the project). Thus, if you conduct a job analysis, you will provide details of the process, results, and recommendations you would make to the organization resulting from your findings.
Note: Your assignment will be checked for originality via the Turnitin p‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌lagiarism tool.

The first is final project checkpoint

The first is final project checkpoint #1, focusing specifically on the organization’s staffing (Module 2) and development (Module 3) practices.  In this checkpoint, please make sure to do the following:
First, give me a short introduction to the organization and specific position you are analyzing – this will be the first part of the paper.  Remember, choosing a specific position will make this project more focused, because you can concentrate on the very specific set of HR practices that are applied to that position.
Second, for the STAFFING PRACTICES for that position: (a) describe them briefly; (b) analyze them showing explicit application of course materials; and (c) make two recommendations based on our course materials.
Third, for the DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES for that position: (a) describe them briefly; (b) analyze them showing explicit application of course materials; and (c) make two recommendations based on our course materials.
Please be thorough: the goal is for this first checkpoint to become the first section of your final paper, so that you are building the paper throughout the course.  It is my goal to give you detailed feedback on this checkpoint and the next, so that you can make any necessary changes in the final project.  Ideally, there will be few changes, or perhaps even no changes, and this just becomes the first section of your final project. There are two examples of the first checkpoint provided (attached), if you’d like to see them.
In order to complete Checkpoint #1, you will be required to submit the following:
1. A brief descriiption of the organization and the specific job/ position you are focusing on;
2. The descriiption of the company’s Staffing and Development practices with regard to the specific job/position you are analyzing;
3. A brief analysis of their Staffing and Development practices; and
4. Two recommendations each for Staffing and Development.
Two example documents are attached for review on how paper should be written. Also attached are slides from coursework and the rubric in how paper will be graded.
